Dear Colleague: Please join the Princeton Bar Association on Wed. March 27th for a CLE luncheon on essential intellectual property issues for the general practitioner.
When it comes to intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights), most general praactitioners and most clients have very little understanding of the actual issues. Rather, most tend to believe popular misconceptions. These misconceptions can easily cause a company to go out of business and make a lawyer vulnerable to malpractice. There are different types of patents, trademarks and copyrights. Each has a purpose. The general practitioner needs to know the basic issues involved in obtaining and protecting intellectual property and applying those IP rights through existing systems, such as the Amazon brand registry program and U.S. Customs in order to help clients start and grow their businesses.
Eric LaMorte, Esq. is an attorney who has exclusively practiced intellectual property law for 30 years. In that time, Mr. LaMorte has obtained over 1000 patents and over 1000 registered trademarks and has counseled hundreds of companies on matters involving intellectual property.
Lunch: A delicious gourmet lunch will be served.
CLE Credit: Participants will receive a certificate valid for 1 CLE credit certified in PA and valid for 1 reciprocal credit in New Jersey, New York and any other state that accepts PA CLE credits in reciprocity. Certification pending.
Please join us as we round out another successful year of CLE programming with a very special presentation by Princeton University Professor and Princeton Gerrymandering Project pioneer, Dr. Samuel Wang, speaking on How Law and Data Can Work Together to End Gerrymandering. What would it mean to your organization if you could avoid and overcome the dysfunction that results from gender and racial inequality? What if you could address the not-so-hidden biases that keep us from living and working from a place of integrity? Imagine if we could knock down those barriers and work together more effectively – giving and receiving support, training, referrals – and actually LIKING one another in a productive and collaborative work environment.
Learn to uncover deep-rooted limiting beliefs and pre-suppositions and create a meaningful dialogue to reveal the solutions that can be immediately and effectively applied to your organization.
Topics to be explored during the program:
